When in Atlanta you will want to get a new hairdo at one of the top 5 salons in town. Whether you just need a wash and set, a simple blow out (it’s humid here!) or a nice updo to keep the clingy hair off of your neck, the list below will help you make an informed decision as to which of the top 5 hair salons in Atlanta, Georgia, you’d like to use.

Also, should you need an emergency cut or color, you don’t want to simply wander in off the street and take your chances that Susie the hair girl just graduated hair school last week. You really need to know how long these shops have been around so you don’t get stuck with the trainee thinking you don’t mind being here test case for the latest fashion craze.

You can rest assured that I have personally visited each and every one of these salons. I asked questions of the stylists, the customers and the owners. So, without further ado, here is my list of the top 5 hair salons in Atlanta, GA.

Mariemarie Salon

Although no longer owned my Maria, this salon is still a marvelous place to spend a couple of hours relaxing and getting your hair done up right. Customers are singing the praises for Blair, Patrick and Amanda. This salon is located at 1399 McLendon Avenue NE in Atlanta. They are open 7 days a week!

Salon Adriana

This salon is in the Buckhead part of town. While they are not open 7 days a week, their hours are long enough on the 6 days that they are open so that you should have no problem getting an appointment with about 24 hour’s notice. Adriana is famous for her expertise with color. They are located at 3232 Peachtree Road.

Dada is located at 112 Hurt Stree NE in Atlanta. When I was there the girls were totally loving on David. Everyone told me that is who you need to see for a re-do or makeover for your hair, and especially to correct something someone else messed up. This probably isn’t the best salon for you if you are passing through because his appointments are booked 3 or more weeks out for most services. You can call and ask to be notified of a cancellation though!

Vivid is yet another salon that is open 7 days a week, They are also open until 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. This salon has a super unique approach for making their new customers feel special. Each new client receives a “Welcome” packet that includes coupons towards future services. It’s fairly easy to get an appointment within 24 to 48 hours, so anyone passing through Atlanta should give this great hair salon a try! They are located at 1401 N Highland Avenue.

Artistry Buckhead

This Georgia hair salon has the shortest hours of any that I visited. They are only open Monday through Friday; no weekend hours at all. You can book an appointment via phone or through their online appointment system. If you book online, be prepared to wait about 48 hours for confirmation. The prices seem to be a little higher than other salons in the area, but customers I spoke with said it was worth every penny. I was also told that Up-dos are this salon’s specialty! This salon is located at 260 Pharr Road NE.

Just in case you can’t get into any of the hair salons listed above, here are 5 more that are very highly rated with the local clientele. All cost about the same, and all have above average online reviews in addition to the gossip I heard around town. Most are open 6 or 7 days a week, so getting an appointment should not be a problem, especially if you tell them you are just passing through.
